Effective Field

Leadership 

• Lead, develop, and coach a cross-functional team of developers and testers; build and retain strong engineering talent
• Set clear objectives, define roles and responsibilities within the newly established unit and conduct regular performance reviews and feedback cycles
• Ensure appropriate skills coverage across, including succession planning and targeted upskilling
• Foster a high-performance culture with strong accountability

Delivery & Execution

• Own end-to-end delivery for both platforms, ensuring predictable, high-quality releases aligned with business priorities
• Balance feature delivery, defect remediation, and technical debt reduction across platforms

Engineering Standards & Quality

• Enforce software engineering and testing standards, including secure coding, code reviews, and automated testing practices
• Ensure compliance with internal governance, audit, and regulatory requirements

Planning & Prioritisation

• Translate the product roadmap and technology strategy for both platforms into actionable development and release plans
• Ensure the team delivers high-quality releases on time with a high degree of measurable productivity within the team
• Actively manage capacity, dependencies, and work in progress across both platforms

Stakeholder Management

• Communicate delivery status, risks, and trade-offs transparently and in business-relevant terms

Continuous Improvement & Change

• Drive data based continuous improvement of development, testing, and release processes
• Drive reduction of technical debt and technology innovation

Collaboration

• Work with the Architecture office to shape platform evolution
• Work closely with Product Management to balance innovation with regulatory, operational and engineering requirements
• Work with the QA/Test Office to ensure quality standards are defined and adhered to and a high degree of test automation
• Collaborate with SaaS/Operations, Security, and Risk teams to support reliable, compliant production services

What distinguishes you

• 10+ years in hands-on software development in Fixed Income Trading (preferably Repos and derivatives trading)
• Min 5 years in a role providing oversight over platform development
• Proven success managing an engineering team delivering complex, high-availability systems
• Strong expertise in modern architectures, cloud platforms, DevSecOps, and regulated SDLC environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
